Our Story
Kevin Jones is described by his friends and family as a man who was genuine, kind, optimistic, giving, gracious, and adventurous, amongst so many other things. He was the life of the party—someone that wanted to take part in and share all of the incredible experiences that life had to offer. What will be remembered most about Kevin’s legacy was his ability to bring people together through his generosity. He was always looking to help out anyone he could, and no matter how big or small the gesture was, he often did it quietly, never seeking credit. Many of the people he came in contact with can attest to the ripple effect that he created, constantly inspiring those around him to pay it forward. Even though Kevin is no longer with us physically, his spirit will live on through our foundation, as we seek to extend his legacy and impact on the world he left behind. Sweet Geeks Foundation provides the kinds of experiences and gifts that Kevin cherished giving, brings together communities he held close to his heart, and aims to inspire and impact those in need.

Our Why
Sweet Geeks Foundation was established in 2021 by Isabella and Connor Jones in honor of their father, Kevin, who passed away from lung cancer in June of 2020. As someone who spent most of his life engineering both software and cars, Kevin was a proud, self-proclaimed “geek.” Beyond his passion for cars and computers, he loved to work with kids as a mentor at local youth-based organizations during his free time and also loved taking friends, family, and oftentimes strangers with him on wild adventures on a whim. He was notorious for being almost too sweet, going out of his way to brighten people’s days in any way that he could. When the idea for the foundation first came about, Isabella and Connor were throwing around name ideas while they were stuck in a drive-through line, trying to find something that captured their dad’s essence. Connor brilliantly came up with the name “Sweet Geeks,” a nod to Kevin’s kindness and unashamed geeky-ness, and that's how the name of our foundation was born. Creating Sweet Geeks was a way to turn his legacy into action and create a ripple effect of kindness in our community, just like he always somehow managed to do. Our organization aims to reflect the values he stood for and instilled within those around him: generosity, community, and giving back.
